How it Works: Our Interior Design Process
Whether you are looking for help with a residential or commercial projects, our team of interior designers are here to help! Our goal is to make the entire interior design process enjoyable for you, from design concept to project completion. Here is what to expect when working with our talented designers.
Location: Cossart Design is a designer retail boutique and showroom located in Downtown Perry, Georgia! We carry a variety of gifts, jewelry, and everyday home accessories. We also have in-stock designer/custom furniture for your entire home or commercial space readily available to you. Here, you are also able to create custom furniture options when you visit our shop at any time. Our showroom is a unique tool for our interior design clients because it serves as our studio and a place to see fabrics and furniture in person.
Schedule a Design Consultation: Scheduling a design consultation with our team is easy! This process can be done in person at our design boutique, over the phone (478·924·1127), or on our website. A member from our design team will help you find a date and time that works best for you and our designers to visit the project site.
Design Consultation: Once your design consultation is scheduled, you will receive a Design Questionnaire, which helps our team get a sense of your personal style and a perspective of what you’re looking for prior to our site visit. Then, during our site visit together, we will determine what will need to be incorporated into your project, such as finishes, furniture, fabrics, lighting, rugs, and accessories. Our design team will take measurements and photographs of the spaces at this time. This design consultation generally takes about an hour.
Measuring Your Space: One of the biggest challenges when making DIY interior design updates is making sure your furniture, artwork, rugs, and accessories are the correct size for the space they are going in. This is why working with an Interior Designer is helpful. The Cossart Design team makes this process seamless for everyone. During our consultation together, we take the time to measure the rooms you would like to focus on. Our measurements include: ceiling heights, window and wall lengths, widths, and heights, and surface area. Capturing the exact measurements of your project is essential to the design process because now, we can create 3D and virtual renderings for every space.
Room Planning & Design: After our initial consultation and measuring your space, our team begins the design process! This process is easily broken into two phases: Room planning and design
Phase 1: Room Planning: Utilizing room planning software and 3D virtual renderings as a tool for interior design is resourceful because it eliminates the uncertainty of what your space could look like when finished, and solidifies how every piece we are incorporating into your project will fit. For example, our room planning tools showcase how your new designer sofa is going to fit + look amazing paired with your new area rug and custom window treatments is important! Knowing the investment you are making for interior design is going to work perfectly in your space allows you to be more confident in your decision making.
Phase 2: Design: Once we have furniture and room plan, we are able to design how everything will look! During this phase, fabrics, finishes, rugs, artwork, lighting, and accessories are chosen to complete your space. While this part of our process is full of tiny details that play a big role in your overall design aesthetic, it is the most fun for us! At this point, the personality of your space comes to life with the help of colors, textures, and patterns.
Presentation: After all aspects of your project are chosen by our team, with thoughtful consideration of your needs and style, we bring you back to our Design Studio at our retail boutique, and present your project plan and options to you. This is usually done with visual aids, such as your 3D visual renderings, and mood boards. This is a great time to tweak any final design styles and options for your furniture and space.
Installation: After finalizing all your project details together during your client presentation, we order and receive all items to our retail space. This timeline depends on the scope of your project and product lead times. Once everything has arrived, we add finishing touches and install everything into your home or commercial space at once. Doing it this way minimizes the impact on your schedule and gives you the wow factor of a dramatic transformation. Think of install day as an episode of your favorite home renovation television show - the result is worth the wait!
